MUNICH (AP) — David Alaba will leave Bayern Munich when his contract expires at the end of the season after 13 years with the Bundesliga club, making him one of the most sought-after free agents in European soccer.

FC Bayern secured their 31st German league title on Saturday - and Thomas Müller and David Alaba have been part of the team for each of the last 10. After winning the title in 2010, the Bayern duo have lifted the trophy nine years running from 2013 to today.

Alaba made over 400 appearances for Bayern Munich, winning 27 honours including ten Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles in 2013 and 2020, both as part of trebles. During his time in Germany, he was named in the UEFA Team of the Year three times.

With almost 350 Bayern Munich appearances and eight Bundesliga titles to his name, David Alaba is surely up there with the best left-backs in the club's illustrious history.
